Pandora's Fashion Shop!
I like the new Guild shops and it tastes for more: Personal shops! The idea is this:
During adventuring allow players to gain experience in the fne arts of tailorship, weaponshmithing, armouring... Maybe more.
At certain experience levels you will be able to craft new items:
-A tailor will earn a new set of armour skins.
-The weaponsmith will gain new prefixes and suffixes for crafting.
-The armourer will be able to craft higher level armour.
What is the difference between the tailor and the armourer? The tailor uses your materials to create fashion of his tailorship skill level. The armourer uses this fashion to imbue it with defence, etc. This way all kinds of skins can be imbued with differend kinds of defence settings.
What is the difference with the weaponsmith here and the ones in towns? This weaponsmith increases in level up to the abillity of creating purple items when he becomes an expert weaponsmith. With a largely wider range of suffixes and prefixes than the town smiths.
How can a player become tailor/armourer/weaponsmith? Those are titles and they increase their title level by doing all kinds of quests related to those professions. Or by exploring or finding title related materials. There may be more ways. They need to buy a shop in the Guild Hall. Once they own that everyone with access to the Guild Hall can buy their items. Eventually a guild can put taxes on sales
Why in Guild Halls only? Because its not possible to add like 20.000 shops in e.g. LA, district 1 Europe. Guild Halls have limited access, making it possible for everyone to add shops.

You've been playing other MMOs, haven't you? that's basically what dwarves in lineage 2 do. A nice idea, but it would mean you'd get low levels with max armour running about, and taking out the challenge.

GW already has a lot of low levels running around with max armor. What if these new NPC's couldn't craft new items, they could only work on things you already have?

Yes, if we go for the armor shops we have to deal with that. For weapons its np, since they are already being exchanged at Guild Halls. Maybe a level restriction for visting the Guild Halls? I mean: What guild allows low level chr's to join GvG?
